Accessibility
We are continuously working on developing the new building at Alice-Harnoncourt-Platz 1 into an inclusive, barrier-free environment:
- The building is equipped with fixed hearing loops (induction loops) at all critical points important for visitors, e.g. information and gate, main hall, small hall.
- All activities can be accessed at ground level; in addition, wheelchair spaces are available in all designated event rooms, and elevators are available to access both the upper floors (e.g. the library) and the mezzanine floor on the ground floor, which houses the Music Education, Drama, and Dance departments.
- Disabled toilets are accessible on several levels in the building.
- The building is equipped with a guidance system that shows visually impaired people the way to the information desk, warns of staircases and facilitates orientation in the elevators.
- Intercom systems have also been set up outside the building so that visitors with disabilities can request assistance at both the main entrance and the underground car park entrance.
- Another new feature is the city bus stop for line 150 right in front of the building (low-floor vehicle).
