Beyond This Point is a Chicago-based collaborative music ensemble dedicated to the advancement of experimental and contemporary culture. This multifaceted collective of musicians, performers, and arts practitioners builds experimental projects that engage with written music, sound art, lighting, installation, improvisation and live electronics. From the intimate to the monumental, BTP is known for producing unique performances that offer captivating and exhilarating experiences. BTP has presented its original programs at venues throughout North America, with recent performances at the Time:Spans Festival in New York, The CURRENTS New Media Festival in Santa Fe, and at New Music Concerts in Toronto.

For their virtual workshop in November at IKD, Beyond This Point will provide participants with detailed strategies for integrating musical execution with other disciplines or elements, including fixed and live electronics, gesture/action, theater/dramaturgy, lighting, and others.
Through the workshop, participants will also have the opportunity to receive detailed feedback from BTP on new performative works, whether they are still in an early idea/sketch stage, completed, or any phase in between.
