CIVAE 8th Arts in Education Conference
CIVAE 2026 provides a platform for collaboration between teachers, researches and artists from different disciplines – music, dance, theater, poetry, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, cinema, philology, history, architecture, journalism, literature, philology, language learning, etc. – with the aim to highlight the value of the arts in education and promote their development from an interdisciplinary approach.

Artist Pedagogy and Artistic Thinking: Perspectives and Practices
This conference investigates current approaches to artist pedagogy and explores how artistic thinking both emerges from and influences teaching and education in the arts. It focuses on how pedagogies have changed and evolved in response to shifting concerns. At the same time, it examines what we have held on to and why and asks how artist pedagogy should develop to meet future societal circumstances and challenges. The conference will be held on the Sörnäinen campus on 27–28 August 2026, with an online post-conference event on 4 September 2026. The conference registration will be open in June 2026.
