Artist Pedagogy and Artistic Thinking: Perspectives and Practices
This conference investigates current approaches to artist pedagogy and explores how artistic thinking both emerges from and influences teaching and education in the arts. It focuses on how pedagogies have changed and evolved in response to shifting concerns. At the same time, it examines what we have held on to and why and asks how artist pedagogy should develop to meet future societal circumstances and challenges.

Um die Wechselwirkungen als potenzielle Choreografien des Wandels zu untersuchen, konzentriert sich das Symposium auf Praktiken im Tanz, in künstlerischer oder sozialer Choreographie sowie Körperpraxis, die zwischen gesellschaftlichen, politischen, verkörperten und choreografischen Prozessen wie Dramaturgie, Vermittlung, Pädagogik, Therapie, Soziale Arbeit und Produktion operieren. Da sie im Zwischenraum dieser Arbeitsfelder produktiv werden, tragen diese Praktiken wesentlich zur Bewegung zwischen verschiedenen Dimensionen von Veränderung mit bei.

Sparkling Science 2.0
Im Forschungsförderprogramm „Sparkling Science 2.0“ fördert der OeAD im Auftrag des BMFWF Citizen-Science-Projekte, in welchen wissenschaftliche Einrichtungen mit Bildungseinrichtungen und wenn möglich Partnern aus Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft zusammenarbeiten, um gemeinsam neue Forschungsergebnisse zu gewinnen.
Im Rahmen der ersten beiden Ausschreibungen (2021 und 2023) wurden insgesamt 61 Citizen-Science-Projekte mit insgesamt 21 Mio. Euro gefördert. Mit den geförderten Projekten werden voraussichtlich über 110.000 Personen (davon mehr als 80.000 Schülerinnen und Schüler sowie rund 38.000 weitere Citizen Scientists) erreicht, die sich so aktiv an Wissenschaft und Forschung beteiligen.
Die 3. Ausschreibung von „Sparkling Science 2.0” startet mit 1. September 2026, 8:00 Uhr, und ist bis 30. Oktober 2026, 12:00 Uhr, geöffnet.
Opera and Dance in Nineteenth-Century Italy
This two-day conference invites scholars to explore interactions between opera and dance in Italy and the Italian operatic industry from a broad range of disciplinary perspectives. The overall aim is to consider what the interaction between the two art forms — extending to their literal occupation of the same theatres — might reveal about broader shifts in Italian musical culture across the period 1790–1922.
