The European Platform for Artistic Research in Music (EPARM) will take place at Bruckner University from 22 to 24 April 2027. From now until 15 November 2026 music researchers, educators, performers and composers interested in exploring Artistic Research through their practice can apply with their proposals.

EPARM is an initiative of the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC). It supports Artistic Research in Higher Music Education by sharing knowledge and insights, developing the discourse around Artistic Research, and encouraging new ideas and developments. Within the theme "Crossing Thresholds", EPARM 2027 invites submissions that explore the artistic, epistemic, ethical, and institutional thresholds shaping artistic research, as well as the transformations that crossing these thresholds bring about. While distinctive characteristics of artistic research have often been discussed in terms of methods, dissemination formats, and disciplinary definitions, less attention has been paid to the thresholds researching musicians cross when generating meaningful artistic research from artistic practice.

EPARM welcomes proposals for research presentations or research performances that encompass different approaches, methods and forms of dissemination of Artistic Research. Since artistic practice is considered the core of all such research, presentations are expected to include performance or the presentation of original artistic work.
