Galenina
Anastasia Galenina grew up in Yekaterinburg, where she received her first piano lessons from Larissa Kutsenko at the age of five. Her education took her to the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, where she studied piano, song accompaniment, and chamber music with Oleg Malov and Sergei Urivaev beginning in 2015, and furthered her studies in chamber music in Inga Dzektzer’s class from 2020 to 2022.
As a concert pianist, she is at home throughout Europe: Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Serbia, and Bosnia are among the places where she has performed. In 2024, she accepted an invitation to a master class with Maestro Alfred Brendel at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf, an encounter that has had a lasting impact on her artistic development.
As an accompanist, she has accompanied master classes led by Paul Roczek (Mozarteum Salzburg), Michael Vaiman, Skerdjano Keraj (HfMT Cologne), Michael Frischenschlager, and Matteo Calosci. She gained further important insights as a participant in master classes with Yura Margulis, Milana Chernyavska, Kathryn Stott, Pieter Wispelwey, Michail Lidsky, Claus-Christian Schuster, Maxim Mogilevski, Wen-Sinn Yang, and Jürg Dähler.
From 2022 to 2025, she completed the master’s program in Instrumental Duo at the Folkwang University of the Arts in the class of Prof. Evgeni Sinaiski; since 2025, she has been continuing her studies there toward her concert exam.
In addition to her concert activities, piano accompaniment is a central part of her work. Since 2026, she has been working as a piano accompanist at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz.
From 2024 to 2024, she was based at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf, where she collaborated with Eckart Runge, Yamei Yu, and Guy Ben-Ziony, and accompanied master classes led by Robin Wilson (Royal Academy of Music / Menuhin School, London), Wonji Kim (Mozarteum Salzburg), Alexey Semenenko (Folkwang University), and Isabel Charisius (Zurich University of the Arts). From 2022 to 2026, she also worked at the Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy in Düsseldorf and Berlin.
She has performed at Villa Musica and the “Interharmony” International Festival in Italy and served as the official pianist for the Anton Rubinstein Violin Competition in Düsseldorf. In 2026, she was invited to serve as a rehearsal pianist for the Orpheus Music Academy (Vienna) and the Schwerte String Festival.
In 2025, she was invited to serve as a juror for the Anton Rubinstein Piano Competition.
Her competition successes speak for themselves: 2nd prize at the Stockholm Music Competition (2017), 1st prize at the International Maria Yudina Competition (2019), 3rd prize at the All-Russian Music Competition (2019), and 1st prize at the International Beethoven Competition in Ufa (2021).
In addition, she received the Folkwang Prize in the “Music” category (2023), the Wolfgang Rihm Prize at the European Chamber Music Competition in Karlsruhe as part of a duo (2025), performed at the European Parliament in Brussels, and gave a solo performance of Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto with the Düsseldorf Women’s Orchestra (both in 2025).
