On 19 and 20 September 2024, the symposium “Thinking With The Body - Breaking Methodological Boundaries” will be held at the Bruckner University. It is being jointly organised by Professor Barbara Lüneburg as part of her artistic research project ‘Embodying Expression, Gender, Charisma - Breaking Boundaries of Classical Instrumental Practices’ FWF AR 749-G) and the Implicit Knowledge Research Network (FORIM).
A variety of perspectives and forms of presentation will be offered, including lectures, performances and lecture recitals from artistic research, the social sciences, philosophy, psychology, educational science and others. The following research questions will take centre stage: How do we use the body as a source of knowledge and as a way of thinking, and how do we make this knowledge accessible and shareable? How can ‘embodiment’ be defined and represented conceptually, theoretically or artistically? What does the concept of the ‘body’ mean for theories of tacit knowledge?
Keynote Speaker: Jennifer Torrence, percussionist and artistic researcher from the Norwegian Music Academy
Artist in Residence: Deok-Vin Lee, composer and artistic researcher from Korea.
Concert with works by Deok-Vin Lee and Simon Løffler on 19.9. at 5:30pm in the KleinerSaal.
