The head of the doctoral programmes, Barbara Lüneburg, gave a keynote speech on her artistic research project “Embodying Expression, Gender, Charisma - Breaking Boundaries of Classical Instrumental Practices” (FWF; AR-749G) at the international symposium “Opening the Doors to Art and Science in Music” on 24 and 25 November 2022 at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. She presented in a second session her audiovisual installation “The Body that Performs” (2022). In her audiovisual installation “The Body that Performs”, Barbara Lüneburg has been looking for ways to capture the physical and artistic expression of different violinists as an essential part of their musical and cultural expression and the values we share with our audience. Through her art, she draws our attention to musical moments that are expressed through posture, movements, small or large gestures, right down to the raising of an eyebrow.
