On July 11, 2024, doctoral candidate Sam Erpelding presented his research on the congress topic ‘Ecoacoustics and Sound Art’ at the “5th World Ecoacoustic Congress” in Madrid (Spain).
In his lecture, titled “Ecoacoustic Research & Its Representation Through Intermedia Sound Art – Sonic Health of Protected Ecosystems and Anthropogenic Impacts on Their Ecological Communities”, Erpelding presented findings of his research. His lecture focused on the acoustic characteristics of Austria’s Donau-Auen and Kalkalpen National Parks, while presenting audiovisual installations and compositions based on his research results.
