Κonstantina Polychronopoulou gave a lecture performance on 29 June 2024 at the Municipal Conservatory Pylaia-Chortiatis (Thessaloniki, Greece) as part of the symposium “Music Diaries International Forum 2024”.
In her lecture Music and Body: Exploring the relationship between music and body through the kinetic lens, Polychronopoulou presented her research on the relationship between choreographers and dancers. Based on the context of her own dissertation, she analysed the interplay between music and movement and the different ways in which the body decodes sound and how musical elements influence movement. She also talked about the nuances of musical communication between choreographers and dancers and how this can enhance the creative synergy between the two.
The lecture was followed by a practical demonstration with a live performance by dancer Aliki Giorgiou.
