The doctoral candidate and flutist Renata Kambarova will present research findings from her PhD project “Approaching Nola Shashmaqom and Western Contemporary Art Music through intercultural exchange and artistic research” in a one-hour lecture-recital at the symposium Crosswinds: collaborative creativity as transformative practice on 26 January 2023 in Aveiro, Portugal. In her research project, Kambarova explores ways of combining situational analysis and artistic research through improvisation, electroacoustic composition, field research and interviews. The international symposium for artistic research is an extension of the second edition of the festival “Flute Ensembles across Europe”, organised by the European Flute Council.
