Vittoria Ecclesia, Senior Scientist at the Doctoral School, has published her doctoral dissertation with the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Press as part of their series “Studies on Artistic Research”. The work, titled “Practice Beyond Boundaries: Enhancing Musicianship through Historical Instruments”, investigates the comparison between a historical clarinet model and its modern counterpart, exploring how embodied knowledge developed through instrumental practice can be transferred between the two instruments.
The dissertation was awarded the Estonian Ministry of Education prize for doctoral dissertations defended in 2024, and received an honourable mention at the Doctors in Performance Artistic Research prize. It has been praised for the clarity of its methodological framework.
The book is available at the Bruckner University library.
