A central highlight of this year’s Winter Lab is the guest lecture by Jed Wentz on 28 January. In his talk Filming Marlowe’s Faustus: an artistic research project, Wentz presents a practice-based research project exploring historical acting techniques, rhetoric, gesture, and the role of imagination in artistic research.
The programme also includes a lecture by Anne Marie Dragosits, supervisor of the doctoral programmes, who will speak on Giovanni Girolamo Kapsperger (1579–1651) as a teacher on 29 January.
In addition, doctoral candidates from the sub-areas Historically Informed Performance Practice and Historical Musicology will present the current status of their research through lectures and lecture-recitals. Contributions will be given by Enrico Coden, Alexandra Helldorff, Claudio Ribeiro, and Henry Van Engen (HIPP), as well as Hazal Akyaz and Erin Lupardus (Historical Musicology).
