Lectures & Workshops

Each semester, lectures and workshops on topics such as self-management, brand development & innovation, well-being and networking are offered by external specialists and experts. These are open to all students (usually with registration due to limited space!).

Career Talks

‘What do you want to do with your degree?’
‘How do you want to earn money with it?’

These are questions that artists know all too well and that often cause them to doubt their own goals.

The ‘Career Talks’ invite interesting guests to the ABU who have found their own personal answers and solutions to these (and other) questions in a relaxed atmosphere and who are pursuing successful career paths that they are happy to talk about. This includes secrets to success as well as anecdotes of winning and failing, as well as the opportunity to ask personal questions and reflect together. Because there is no universal ‘recipe for success’, no perfect CV and no straightforward career path!

Personal counselling

Every Tuesday, between 10:00-12:00 (also on other days as required), there is the opportunity for personal counselling (in person or online). This takes the form of one-to-one meetings and can be arranged individually as required during the semester.

During the personal consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss problems or questions, such as coping with stress/anxiety/conflicts, professional goals, general career advice, artist strategies, application processes/documents, etc.

Workshop participation

  1. Our target group is ABU students and alumni up to five years after degree completion. The workshops are generally aimed at all fields of study, but sometimes the focus is on a specific field (see announcement for details). Postgraduate and Erasmus students are also welcome.
  2. The workshops are free of charge for ABU students and alumni.
  3. To register for workshops organised by the Career Centre, please send an email to careertyrbrucknerunirat.
  4. For events with a limited number of participants, registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received.
  5. If you are unable to attend, e.g. due to a scheduling conflict, we ask that you cancel your registration for the workshop out of fairness to your colleagues so that people on the waiting list can move up.
  6. The Career Centre reserves the right to postpone or cancel workshops for important reasons.
