Helldorff

Alexandra Helldorff is a doctoral student at Anton Bruckner Private University and a university assistant at the Doctoral School. Since November 2024, she has also been a part of the university’s Research Services’ team. At the Institute for Early Music, she works as an accompanist and is also responsible for the tuning and internal logistics of historical keyboard instruments.

Her artistic-scholarly research project focuses on Johann David Heinichen’s monumental treatise Der General-Bass in der Composition. Through her project, she aims to contribute to a broader and more differentiated reception of this important source. Further research interests include historical tuning practices.

As a conductor, harpsichordist and pianist, Alexandra Helldorff is in demand in a range of musical contexts. She combines her artistic work with teaching as well as administrative and organisational responsibilities at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

Within the Doctoral School, she supports the team in the development of public relations initiatives, the dissemination of research within the university community, teaching-related activities, and various administrative and coordinating tasks.
