Rainer Holzinger was born in Vöcklabruck in 1972. He studied concert flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Wolfgang Schulz (2002: Mag. art.) and went on to pursue an extensive concert career in Austria and abroad as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician. Rainer Holzinger is a multiple prize winner of the “Jugend musiziert” competition and has been principal flutist of the Linz Jeunesse Orchestra, principal flutist of the “Festa Italiana” gala at the Brucknerhaus in Linz with Marcel Prawy, substitute with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna Volksoper, and as a soloist and chamber musician at the Davos Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, among others.

Rainer Holzinger studied psychology at the University of Vienna (2002: Mag. rer. nat.). In 2004, he received his doctorate and simultaneously completed his specialist training as a clinical psychologist and health psychologist at the University of Vienna and at what is now the Kepler University Hospital Linz/Med Campus III. He trained as a cognitive behavioral therapist in Salzburg (AVM/Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Verhaltensmodifikation).

From 2009 to 2015, he was Director of the Institute for Music & Research at the Anton Bruckner Private University, where he was awarded the Venia Docendi (university lecturer) in 2013. Since 2015, he has been head of the “Studio for Applied Psychology and Physiology.”

Rainer Holzinger is also head of the H&H Institute in Linz (psychology, psychotherapy, [executive] coaching, bio- & neurofeedback, management consulting, moderation, lectures, seminars) and a trainer in the field of high performance (arts & sports, politics & business, media).

His affinity for promoting the transfer of knowledge about psychological relationships led to the founding and (co-)development of the platform “Die Zukunftsmanufaktur – Management & Leadership reloaded” (The Future Factory – Management & Leadership Reloaded) and the establishment of “Hirnlounge®” (Brain Lounge). Both share the intention of promoting socially appropriate values against the scientific background of (brain) physiology and (neuro)psychology on the one hand, and implementing the fact of neuroplasticity in everyday life on the other.

As an expert in (applied) psychology, he regularly collaborates with various media outlets.
