From January 22 to 25, 2025, the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz will host the International Days of Early Music (ITAM), a master class for students from Austria and abroad that combines training in historically informed performance practice with artistic-academic perspectives.

In 2025, ITAM will focus on “Music at the Viennese Court, 1658–1740: Composing Emperors and Imperial Composers” and shed light on the musical legacy of the Habsburg rulers Leopold I, Joseph I and Charles VI. Participants will examine works by court composers such as Schmelzer, Albertini, Sances, Fux and Pederzuoli.

We are delighted that two supervisors from our doctoral program are involved in this exciting program:

· Anne Marie Dragosits, harpsichordist and artistic researcher, will lead the rehearsal of Pederzuoli’s Le Lagrime più giuste di tutte le Lagrime alongside a chamber music course.

· Lars-Edvard Laubhold, musicologist, will give a lecture on “ The Imperial Guild of Trumpeters and Timpanists - or: Phantom Pains of Romantic Music Research” on January 24 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sonic Lab.

Further highlights of the International Early Music Days are the

· Lecturers’ concert on 22 January at 19:00, Kleiner Saal.

· Participants’ concert on 25 January at 19:00, Kleiner Saal.
