The students and their artistic, pedagogical, and personal development are at the heart of the teaching and research activities at the Institute of Music Education. Its teaching staff creates the framework for this and provides a solid foundation for work in music schools, community projects, outreach formats, and much more. The institute understands pedagogical action as an artistic activity that is just as much about enjoying music as it is about assuming socio-political and social responsibility.

The central task of the didactic courses is to support students in developing an individual teaching profile, building on the knowledge imparted in the subject-specific courses, with reference to a variety of didactic and methodological approaches and in direct connection with school practice.

Admission to the secondary school teaching programme is not handled by BrucknerUni. Further information can be found here.
