PARL – Platform for Art and Research Linz offers a variety of opportunities for exchange and networking in the fields of art and research, knowledge transfer, and research communication. With this series, the doctoral programs aim to take a look at the fascinating space that opens up between art and research.
When does art become artistic research?
The platform presents itself in various formats, making the diverse artistic research activities and opportunities of the ABU publicly accessible for the first time:
PARL- GUEST SERIES
The PARL Guest Series is a series of public presentations, lecture recitals, and workshops, which are primarily held during the winter semester. The topics can come from the entire range of subjects covered by the ABU, as long as they explore the tension between art and research.

In lectures, performances, discussions, and workshops, doctoral students and supervisors engage in intensive exchanges with national and international guests about their work in art, research, and teaching.

PARL – NEXT GENERATION
This symposium is exclusively dedicated to early-career researchers. It serves as a platform for doctoral students and young postdocs to exchange ideas on methods and approaches in artistic research, test their research findings in an international context, and network professionally.
PARL – DAY OF RESEARCH
Guests from Austria and abroad are invited to the Day of Research to spend a day in conversation with doctoral students and interested public.
These events are open to all university members and the general public in Linz.
